Characterisation of anti-CD31 recombinant antibodies

CD31 (cluster of differentiation 31) - or PECAM-1 (Platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule) - is an endothelial cell marker. The RHEM platform has identified 3 recombinant antibodies that efficiently detect CD31.

The RHEM platform tested 4 anti-CD31 recombinant antibodies on mouse, rat and human tissues.
- Two antibodies (Ab182981 and Ab281583) were validated in the 3 species.
- Another (AbAb JC70) was validated on human tissue only.
- ABCD AD217 did not give any specific labelling under the tested conditions.
The cost per slide is about 6x lower with recombinant antibodies than with the reference polyclonal antibody Ab28364 (€1.34/blade vs €8.57/blade).
