Description of the training

- Learn basics about how to proceed with a project that includes neurobehavioral assessment in animals.

- Acquérir les éléments essentiels relatifs au développement d’un projet impliquant des études neurocomportementales sur des animaux.

Topics covered during the training

- Generation, production and phenotyping of animal models.
- Ethical, genetic, medical and pharmaceutical concepts (examples of mouse models for neurodegenerative disorders and rare diseases).
- Animal wellbeing and factors that may influence reproducibility and applicability.
- How to design a study: the environment, behavioral assays and tools used in the field.
- Data collection, processing and analysis for best results (including basics in statistics and tools for discussing data.
- Assessment of specific phenotypes in a behavioral test (to be determined), including handling mice, collecting data and using video recording system in the laboratory.
