Descriptif du webinaire

Co-organised by the FC3R and the Swiss 3RCC, this half-day online workshop will provide cutting-edge insights into Replacement methods in Immunology and Infectious diseases. Experts will present how human-relevant in vitro and in silico approaches are being developed to model and study the immune system and deepen our understanding of host–pathogen interactions, while contributing to the Replacement of animal use. The programme will highlight advances in model development and applications, and their potential for therapeutic and safety use.

Speakers:

Session 1 : Next-generation replacement methods to model immune responses

Dr Petya Apostolova, University of Basel, "Advances in replacing animal experiments to decipher tumor-immune cell
interactions"
Dr Anna Niarakis, University of Toulouse III- Paul Sabatier, "DigiTREAT: Building a Digital Twin for the personalised treatment of RhEumatoid ArthriTis"
Dr Julia Esser-von Bieren, University of Lausanne, "Advanced HSPC tools for studying myeloid cell reprogramming in infection and immunity"

Session 2 : New approaches to studying infection and host-pathogen interactions

Dr Marine Wasniewski, Agence Nationale de Sécurité Sanitaire de l'Alimentation, "ReMiRa : Replacing Mice for Rabies-related activities"
Dr Caroline Tapparel, University of Geneva, "Advancing the 3Rs in Respiratory Virus Research: From Human Airway Epithelia to High-Throughput Airway Organoids"
Dr Delphine Le Roux, École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort, "New cellular models to better understand the specific interactions between T. gondii and its definitive feline host"
Dr Malenka Kunz, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, "A versatile human in vitro model to study parasite infections"
